This year we celebrated Easter with brunch at my sister's house. She had her backyard looking beautiful and made the cutest table settings...I wish I had some pictures of them! Thanks for a yummy breakfast Trish!

Spring Break...
This past week was my spring break from ASU...and you know what exciting plans I had..? Working, yep! So by Fri I was so bummed that I was the only student from ASU not laying by the pool/beach somewhere (or so it seemed..) so I convinced myself (it really wasnt that hard..) that what I needed was a quick vacay to Vegas! So my roomie Alisha, her friend Ashley and I all drove up to Vegas sat. morning and came back sun night. I was short and sweet, just what Vegas should be! ( really, who can handle more than two days in Vegas anyways?)

Eating lunch at Margaritaville...where its 5 o'clock somewhere!
This was our cabbie for the night, Nate..or as we called him "Nate Dawg"..I think he dug it! This was by far the funniest part of the night..(sadly). He was such a riot and since the cab ride was about 30 mins with all the crazy traffic we made the most of it! He taught us some new dance moves and when we told him we were from AZ he said, "Really..? Cuz you don't look like most girls I see from AZ...you girls are thick!" US: "Wait..Um...excuse me? Did he just call us thick? Yes..yes...he did.." We decided to go with it and take it as a compliment! :)

Spring is in the air....
Really they post these signs for a reason! This weekend me and some friends went to a Cubs spring training game! So at the start of the game we were joking about how my friend Nick has bad luck when it comes to "fly balls"...his first ever baseball game resulted in one to the face! So he was on watch all game...about an hour in, he falls asleep and his cousins wife wakes him to tell him his phone was ringing...about 5 mins later a home run is headed straight towards us! We are all ducking for cover and unfortunatly Amy (the cousin's wife) is nailed in the leg with the ball...directly where Nick's head would have been laying! Poor girl had a bruise good enough to draw stares and could barely walk! But she was a trooper and laughed about it the whole time!
Nick, right before Amy saved his life!
The gang and Amy showin' off her battle wound!

What happens at Grandma's...stays at Grandma's
So Thursday I decided to pop in at my Grandma's house and see my nephew Brock. It had of course been a whole 4 days since I saw him last! (That's like 2 weeks in Auntie time you know!) To my surprise I found him and his chubby little legs covered in black ink! I pointed and said (in my most serious voice..) "what is this?"..."what did you do?" He just looked at me and laughed! He knew exactly what he had done! Great-Grandma Mae Mae insisted she would wash it off before mama saw! We could never let mama begin to think that Brock could get into any sort of mischief while at Grandma's house of course! Before she could scrub him clean I had to snap some pictures because it was just too funny!

This all reminded me of a story about some fun my brother and I had with Grandma when we were little. One day my brother and I decided to color Mae Mae while she napped! Her legs and shorts were lovely shades of pink, green, purple and blue! We still laugh about it to this day and I think she might still even have the shorts with marker stains to prove it! Grandma's (and Great-Grandma's) are just wonderful aren't they? :) I'm so glad that Brock is lucky enough to experience the same love and happiness that we did with our Mae Mae!

Dont worry I survived..
Me and Neal on Pacific Beach
I know its been a week but I am back from San Diego and I am alive and well! So we didn't end up hang gliding but I still had an amazing time! The weather was perfect and we spent the days riding "beach cruisers" up and down the boardwalk and laying on the beach! I cant remember the last time I was on a bike so at first Ill admit, I was a lil' rusty and Neal was worried I might do some damage to myself or someone else! But like they say, you never forget and I got into the swing of things and we had so much fun! I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't even think to bring flip flops so I had to buy a pair while I was there! Those lucky San Diagans..80 degrees in Jan! I guess the weather isn't too different here but we don't have the beautiful beach to enjoy! I already miss it but Neal goes back to San Diego in Feb so maybe, just maybe....Ill be crossing my fingers!Thursday, January 8, 2009
Cali here I come...
So tomorrow I leave for San Diego and I couldnt be more excited!I am going to visit my boyfriend Neal who is currently training there. Tough gig, I know!
Im so happy to have a lil getaway before school starts back! Oh and of course to see him. :) We havent seen eachother since Thanksgiving and its tough! So we decided that we wanted to do something fun while I was there and you wanna know what he came up with..? Hang gliding!! Uh excuse me? Running off the side of a cliff attached to a ginormous kite doesn't sound too fun to me...crazy and scary maybe! I had dinner by the ocean in mind... So I guess Ill let you know if I end up taking the leap! (if i live to tell about it, that is..)
