Our Favorite Spot...

In Jan I headed back to Hermosa Beach again...I'll admit, I'm kinda in love with this place. Beautiful beaches, great night life, cute shops and restaurants and awesome weather of course... ahhhh I miss it already. My friends Nick, Megan and Alisha joined in on the fun!Hermosa Beach Pier

Nick getting ready to try his hand at surfing...I was exhausted just watching him paddle out.

Hermosa Fire Dept was having a benefit for breast cancer that weekend and this fire truck was amazing! It was covered in signatures and thoughtful messages.
The beautiful beaches.

Taking it all in before we had to say good-bye. So long..until next time!

On Being "Average"...

"I want to live life on the edge all while holding to a safety rope. I want to make the world better, but I don’t want it to cost me anything. I want to heal and mend and restore, but it can’t make me uncomfortable or scared or tired." http://blog.inthenameoflove.org/archives/2319

A couple weeks ago my sister sent me a link to an amazing blog. Today I came across a recent post that really spoke to me so I thought I'd share (click on the link above). I felt like her words perfectly described a lot of my own recent thoughts. Lately I've struggled (and I think we all do at times) with the belief that my life is only just "average" and "comfortable". It leaves me feeling unfulfilled, however, my fear of failure and the unknown prevent me from making the necessary changes and taking risks. I know that God can do amazing things with "average" people as long as we trust in Him. I guess that's the tough part, learning to trust. Trust requires that we "step out of the boat".
