A Dose of Beauty (Fall Edition)..

With a new season under way it's not just your wardrobe changing but your makeup bag may need an overhaul as well! The colder, drier months call for different skin needs and new Fall shades are making their appearance! So here are some of my winter necessities I use currently, and some I'm dying to try!

Bronzer- With no more beach vacations or lake trips on the horizon I'll be resorting to bronzer and self tanners to keep my skin looking sun-kissed!

Eyes-Typically during summer I'm all about the fresh-faced look which means I hardly ever wear eye shadow but come the holiday seasons I'm always looking for something to give my eyes a lil more wow factor! I'm a big fan of these shades for Fall/Winter.

We all know "animal print" is a wardrobe must but today's topic is not referring to leopard. Today I'm talking literal animal prints. I was inspired after Friday's post featured Julia in her adorable horse print scarf. Now I'm feeling a bit foxy! And let me tell you, it wasn't hard to find examples of this trend because fox print is everywhere! Clutches, sweaters, pants and even tights! So tell me, would you?

A Dose of Leaf Love...

It's Friday y'all and I'm so looking forward to the weekend! Tomorrow I'll be busy checking some items off my Fall To-Do list. I'll be participating in my first ever run!! It's a 5K (gotta start somewhere right?) that kicks off the start to Tempe Oktoberfest. And can you believe we've finally been seeing some cooler temps around here!? (Cooler, as in 80's not 90's, but I'll take it.) So it seems like Saturday's forecast be calling for gorgeous Fall weather! Perfect timing because this week's Friday's Fancies is all about Fall colors. We don't get to experience much of the changing seasons but it was great inspiration for putting together this gorgeous look. With so many blogs out there it's rare lately that I find one that makes me all giddy inside. Ya know those ones where you find yourself pouring through their archives and then filled with a re-newed inspiration?! Well this happened today when I came across Bittersweet Colours and I just had to share. Have you checked this lady out yet? It's been a busy week so today's WYW is short and sweet! I've been spotting these mirrored shades in tons of recent street style photos and now I desperately want to get my hands on a pair. They seem like the type of sunnies you would break out during the summer time but I'm loving that these ladies are sporting them year round! They put the perfect funky twist on a structured pant suit and just enough edge to a more lady-like outfit! I'm a big fan, are you?

Lulu*s Style Studio Recap...

Better late than never right? So two weeks ago I attended the Lulu*s Style Studio event at the Monorchid in Phoenix. This was my first ever "blogger" event so I brought along my wing woman, Erica! We had such a great time! The event space is an art gallery which they transformed in order to showcase all sorts of fun things including makeup touch ups, a bar for mocktails by POM, a photo booth, a swag table with tons of freebies and shopping of course!

 We received these cute shopping totes upon arrival, filled with a Lulu*s gift card and other fun coupons!

 Erin from Calivintage held a styling contest and all the contestants ended up winning a item of their choice! Pretty sweet deal!

My best part of the night was getting up the courage to introduce myself to Mara! We talked for a bit and she's the sweetest! She shared her favorite Fall trends with the crowd (which included peplum) and approached me afterwards complimenting me on my top! Awe shucks! :)

After all the fun was over we headed over to Pizzeria Bianco. If you haven't heard of it, it's only like the most popular pizza place in all of Arizona! I'd never been so of course I was beyond excited to finally try it. But as my luck would have it, I started getting the worst headache which made me sick to my stomach. I took one bite and almost lost it. :( I couldn't even enjoy what's supposed to be one of the best pizza places in the US. So sad. I must go back asap!

At least Erica looks like she had a good time. :)

Minus getting sick, the night was so much fun! I walked away with tons of goodies including eye shadows, hair ties, nail polishes and scooped up this cute dress!

A Dose of Monotone...

I'm pretty sure there is nothing better than an all black ensemble. It just always looks so sophisticated, sexy and chic. So for this week's Friday's Fancies it was really hard for me to put together an outfit that wasn't black. Because well, what would be the fun in that? Instead I went with the next best thing, burgundy! It is after all, this seasons' "it" color.

I think the important thing to remember when putting together a monochromatic look is texture. Don't be afraid to mix and match. The reason I love this look is for the subtle touches like leather, suede, studs, and brocade. They all add interesting detail to what could otherwise be a pretty boring look! What do you think?
