A Dose of Lust...

I know I have probably featured some of these items before but I just can't help myself. When I heard this week's Friday's Fancies theme was Fall Lust List I knew I would be including some pieces that I've had my eye on for a while. Specifically, those Rag & Bone booties and that gorgeous Cartier bracelet! And if I was living in la-la land they would definitely be in my closet, like yesterday! You've also probably noticed I little bit of a theme here...leather pants, leather shorts, neutral colors..what can say, I'm definitely a creature of habit. In my closet you will find many varieties of essentially the same thing. I can't help it, I know what I like and I don't usually stray too far from it. Don't get me started on stripes! (Which is about the only "print" you'll find in my closet.) Anyone else have this problem? Buying lot's of the same thing over and over?

If you could, what's one thing you would splurge on for Fall?

Would You? Wednesday...

It would seem to me that the 90's are back in a big way! A couple weeks ago we pondered the idea of overalls and this week it's yet another trend from my younger years, combat boots...or should I say "military boots", since that's what they will be referred to this season. (Funny how we do that huh? Same trend, different name.) Anyways, I'm thinking I probably should have held on to those Doc Martens of mine because I'm all in on this look! I always prefer an outfit with a touch of edge so this is right up my ally. I'm also loving anything military inspired at the moment! I'm definitely eyeing the Steve Madden Troopa! (black, bottom row) Now let's get right down to it, would you?

A Dose of Back to School Cool...

During my time in college I was never "lucky" enough to able to roll out of bed last minute and throw on some shades to hide the hangover and call it a day. Nope, I worked full time and usually attended classes in the evenings, which meant I was usually still sporting work duds. Which is not so fun when you decide to wear heels that day! Running around the nation's largest campus in heels and 100 degree weather is not recommended! And although I know that the only thing you may feel like throwing on after a night of partying studying is some comfy sweats, there is a middle ground that will keep you looking and feeling your best! So, here are my suggestions for the perfect back to school ensemble!

Back To School Cool

- A comfy v-neck
- Some stylish skinnies in a great Fall color
- An over sized cardigan for those chilly classrooms
- A classic watch and glasses to keep you looking the part
 - A day planner/or iPad cover to help you stay organized
- A pair of chic flats for all that running around campus
-An on trend backpack with plenty of room to spare

Here's to looking stylish all semester long!

Would You? Wednesday...

So a couple weeks ago I scored the cutest fringe Steve Madden purse at TJMaxx. Now usually I'm horrible when it comes to finding great buys at places like Ross etc. I just don't have the patience to search. So you can imagine my excitement when I found this purse for a great price! As I approached the register the young girl ringing me up gave my purse one look and shook her head.."I just don't get this kinda stuff" she said. "This fringe stuff...why would you wanna look like an Indian or something?"...yep, she totally insulted my purchase right in front of me. Did I mention I was also purchasing a pair of leopard skinnies and a bright yellow tank top? She went on to say that she hoped I wasn't planning on wearing all of these together! (Which I did not.) Ha! The moment was so awkward I didn't even know what to say, except for "Oh I think it's so fun!" Now, I wasn't really offended by her comment (clearly we weren't on the same page style wise) but it just got me thinking about how different peoples' opinions can be when it comes to style and trends. That's why I love hearing your thoughts! So of course today the topic is fringe! Now tell me, would you?

And in case you were wondering, this is the purse I bought! :)

A Dose of White...

I can't believe today is the last day of August and Fall is right around the corner! I know everyone would probably agree that the days just seem to fly by at times but August really was over in a blink of an eye! It's probably because every one one of my weekends this month was filled with some sort of celebration. Don't get me wrong, I love being busy but sometimes it's nice to just sit back and relax with no plans at all. And that's exactly what I plan on doing this Labor Day weekend! I'm gonna savor these last days of summer and spend time with the family. Especially these two. :)

Now as for what I'll be wearing, this weeks' Friday's Fancies theme was Labor Day of course, so I think taking advantage of the white jeans in my closet would be quite appropriate. And since I'll be laying low most of the weekend, nothing is easier than jeans and a classic tank. I really think summer dressing should be no fuss and easy breezy. So throw on a pair of heels and jewelry at night and your good to go! But white isn't just for the summer season anymore so I also included an idea for styling your white denim come Fall! What do you guys think? Will you be wearing your whites all year long?

I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Cheers. xo

A Dose of Geometry...

This week marked the start of a new Fall school semester! That means back to school shopping, football season, meeting new people...all the things I miss most about college. However, when it comes to actually attending classes and the workload that comes with it, that I surely don't miss. Especially math! I will admit that anything involving geometry, algebra or calculus was never my strong suit. So even though my school days are long gone, I'm happy to say that when it comes to math the only thing on my mind is geometric jewelry! I'm utterly in love with this trend. Below are some of my faves.

Geometric

Good luck to all those who started back to school this week! Instead of attending the first game of the ASU football season (Go Devils!), I'll be cheering on the Arizona Cardinals tonight! Great start to my Labor Day weekend don't ya think! :)

Would You? Wednesday...

Today's post was inspired by a feature I read yesterday on Who What Wear. The topic is menswear, specifically the necktie! We all know that menswear has huge influence on the ladies right now with oxford shoes, blazers, boyfriend jeans etc. But would you go as far as wearing a tie?

Who What Wear

I think I prefer a cheeky version like Jessica Alba's sequined sweater or this cute top. And if the traditional necktie is not your thing, you can always put a twist on like Jane did and turn it into a bow!

Sea of Shoes

I think her menswear inspired look is just perfect! I love the mix of dots! So tell me, would you wear one of these versions?

*I wanted to add a little thank you for the feedback on Would You? Wednesdays. These are becoming my favorite posts and I always enjoy reading everyone's thoughts! So thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
