A Dose of a Road Trip...

This summer has been filled to the brim with baby showers, the arrival of 2 new nieces, birthdays, and so much more! Even though a road trip was something I really wanted to do this summer, I just knew it wasn't gonna happen with this busy schedule. So when I heard this week's theme for Friday's Fancies was "road trip" I got super excited. Because if I can't go on a real one then I might as well plan a dream one. Right? So follow along with me to some of my "must-see" cities and the outfits I envision wearing while visiting! Here we go!

First stop, Denver!
ROAD TRIP

I've heard so many good things about Austin!
And of course a stop in my favorite city, Chicago!

Then some country music and line dancing!
And a visit to our Nation's capital is a must.
Road Trip

Finally how could any trip be complete without a visit to the city that never sleeps?

Now tell me, what cities are on your "must see" list?

Would You? Wednesday...

No your eyes are not deceiving you, it is still in fact 2012, not 1996. The days of grunge rock and flannel t-shirts are behind us, scrunchies are still not acceptable, but depending on who you ask, overalls might just be making their reappearance. *gasp* Yes, you heard right. The return of the overall has been spotted on many reputable and very stylish ladies. Of course they are adding a new spin on the trend, but none the less, these are the same baggy denim duds you were sporting back in the 90's. Now I can't wait to hear what you all think of this..dare I say, comeback? So without further ado, would you?

Now although I think all these ladies are rockin' this look, I just could never bring myself to wear a pair without feeling like I was thirteen again. So for those of you who might be on board with this trend, let's just keep both straps fastened, deal? Deal.

A Dose of Birthdays...

This past weekend was chalk full of celebrations! Friday started with a birthday dinner at Postino's for my friend Megan. If you live in Arizona, Postino's is a must try! Their many varieties of bruschetta are so yummy! They also have the most adorable grassy area (the east location) where you can dine and drink picnic style. I can't wait to try it when the weather cools down a bit. After dinner we headed out for a few drinks. I always love getting together with these girls. There is just never a dull moment! Megan is lucky enough to be celebrating her actual birthday in Manhattan next weekend. What a lucky girl huh? I'm so jealous and sad I won't be able to join. Meg, I hope you have a wonderful time, you deserve it! Happy Birthday gorgeous!

Saturday it was on to the next party! My friend (and former roommate) Alisha was spending her 30th birthday poolside at Talking Stick Resort. If you never been, it's like mini Vegas experience complete with pool parties and a casino. Perfect for a stay cation! We lucked out with the weather because it was actually calling for rain all week but it ended up being a gorgeous day. We only had a minor incident involving wind gusts, an umbrella, and Alisha's boyfriends' face! Don't worry it sounds worse than it was, he's fine I assure you! It was actually pretty hilarious but he had to file a report with the hotel and blah, blah, blah. After all that excitement we headed out for sushi and some more celebrating of course. The whole day was so much fun and I was happy that so many of our friends came out to celebrate what a wonderful person Alisha is!

Gosh I love this lady! Happy 30th birthday friend! xo

A Dose of Sunsets...

As much as I complain about the summer heat here in Arizona, I really do love living here. I mean, how could you not when most every day ends with an amazing sunset like these? Watching the awe inspiring color display across the sky kinda puts it all in perspective sometimes doesn't it? (That, and the 60 degree winter temps are not too shabby!)  :)

Don't these gorgeous photos make you wanna snuggle up with that special someone and a bottle of wine? I think an evening picnic capped off with a spectacular sunset would be uber romantic! Here's my version of a perfectly cozy ensemble for this week's Friday Fancies.

Summer Sunset

Actually, enjoying a sunset is on my list of summer to-do's! Maybe this weekend I'll be lucky enough to catch one of these Arizona wonders. What about you guys? What are you looking forward to this weekend? Whatever exciting plans you may have, remember to take a minute and soak in the moment. Because like a sunset, it will be gone before you know it.

Would You? Wednesday...

As I've mentioned previously, the military trend is one I'm really looking forward to come Fall. Specifically camo print! I just love how easily dressed up or down the look can be. Whether it's a jacket or a pair of skinnies, it gives any outfit just the right amount of edge. And I don't know about you but I prefer my camo paired with heels, not a hunting rifle! ;) So what about you? Would you take camo out of the woods and onto the streets?

I'm loving this trend for the boys as well!

If your loving these looks, below are some options to help you get on trend for Fall!

A Dose of Gingham...

It's yet another installment of Friday's Fancies and this week it's all about gingham. Now I don't know about you, but when I think "gingham" I automatically picture picnic tables and preppy pastels. None of those things are really what I had in mind for a post today so instead, I'm gearing this look more towards Fall. (Since that's all I can think about!) Both of these outfits are exactly what I'm envisioning wearing come cooler months. Right now I have my eye out for the following:
1.Versatile button-downs
2. Jewel toned colors
3. Ankle boots
4. Animal prints
5. Pointed toe flats
6. Structured bags
What about you? What are you looking forward to purchasing for Fall?

Would You? Wednesday...

If you would have asked me months ago what I thought of the "wedge sneaker" trend I probably would've given you a fowl look. But slowly they've begun to grow on me and after seeing some ladies making them look seriously cool, I think I'm actually a fan. What really swayed me was blogger Cara Loren. Have you guys checked out her blog? I just came across it last week and fell in love with her edgy style. So when I saw her rockin' her wedge sneakers, well, that was it. Now I'm not sure if I actually have enough "cool factor" to wear a pair in public, but if you dig this sporty trend then I say more power to you! So tell me, would you
