Here in AZ fall seems like forever away and it's torture walking into shops and lusting after items that you wont be able to wear for at least 3 more months! I like my shopping experience to be one of "immediate gratification" and you wont see items sitting in my closet with tags for too long. So these seasonal transitions are the worst for me, wanting to buy but knowing I cant wear it for weeks, that is not my idea of fun! So in the meantime I'll be dreaming of wide leg denim, button down blouses, leather, knitted slouchy sweaters and boots boots boots!

Our Favorite Spot...
In Jan I headed back to Hermosa Beach again...I'll admit, I'm kinda in love with this place. Beautiful beaches, great night life, cute shops and restaurants and awesome weather of course... ahhhh I miss it already. My friends Nick, Megan and Alisha joined in on the fun!

On Being "Average"...
"I want to live life on the edge all while holding to a safety rope. I want to make the world better, but I don’t want it to cost me anything. I want to heal and mend and restore, but it can’t make me uncomfortable or scared or tired." http://blog.inthenameoflove.org/archives/2319
A couple weeks ago my sister sent me a link to an amazing blog. Today I came across a recent post that really spoke to me so I thought I'd share (click on the link above). I felt like her words perfectly described a lot of my own recent thoughts. Lately I've struggled (and I think we all do at times) with the belief that my life is only just "average" and "comfortable". It leaves me feeling unfulfilled, however, my fear of failure and the unknown prevent me from making the necessary changes and taking risks. I know that God can do amazing things with "average" people as long as we trust in Him. I guess that's the tough part, learning to trust. Trust requires that we "step out of the boat".

Playing Catch Up...
I realize it's been far too long since I last updated my blog. I guess Ive felt like there hasnt been much to blog about lately. However, after going through my pictures from this summer (since that's the last time I updated!) I found I have been a pretty busy gal! It's been fun to look back and recap on all the great memories Ive made the last few months. I really cant believe 2010 is coming to a close in a couple weeks! So kick back and grab some snacks cuz Im warning you, this might take a while....
There was the trip to Hermosa Beach, CA...

a beautiful backyard sunset...
many many lake trips...

of course some themed pool parties...
several happy hours...

a couple birthday celebrations...

A spooky Halloween party...

And priceless memories made with my family...

(oh, and that time I dyed my hair dark!)
*I guess this post kinda serves as a reminder to take time and enjoy those special moments with friends and loved ones..because clearly, time moves fast and we dont always get time to soak it all in!
